Professional O-Ring and Oil Seal Manufacturer, Sealing Solution Supplier Since 2008.
Hydraulic cylinder manufacturing is constantly evolving toward heavier bearing capacity and compact structural layout as engineering and heavy industrial equipment iterates rapidly. More equipment manufacturers start to shift focus from only optimizing sealing pieces to perfecting overall cylinder auxiliary guide configuration in recent years.
Once piston and cylinder barrel, piston rod and end cover directly contact metal without wear ring buffering, lateral force from unbalanced loading will create scratching and galling damage easily. Such premature abrasion shortens seal service cycle sharply and brings extra overhaul and component replacement expenses for end users.
Wear ring, also commonly called guide ring, is specially developed to solve metal friction damage pain points inside hydraulic cylinders. As an indispensable auxiliary guiding accessory, it bears most lateral eccentric load during reciprocating movement and separates two metal fitting faces completely, gradually becoming a standard configured spare part for mainstream domestic and overseas cylinder manufacturers.
PTFE compound filled with bronze powder features low friction and self-lubricating performance, resisting erosion of most common hydraulic fluids. It works stably within -40℃ to 120℃ and matches medium-load hydraulic cylinders widely used in automation and light construction machinery.
Fabric phenolic products own outstanding compressive strength and superior anti-side-load ability, adapting to harsh heavy-load working conditions ranging from large metallurgical presses to mine engineering equipment under -30℃~130℃ operating temperature.
Modified nylon and POM wear rings are available for lightweight equipment with limited cost budget, customized according to customer’s specific operating parameters.
Most conventional wear rings adopt split opening design for convenient field installation into pre-opened piston and rod grooves. The reserved cutting gap can absorb slight thermal expansion caused by temperature change during long-time running, avoiding extrusion protruding out of installation groove. Small precision cylinders can select integrated non-cut wear ring as alternative solution.
A large quantity of wear rings are assembled on boom cylinders, steering cylinders and lifting cylinders of excavators, loaders and container forklifts to offset eccentric lateral force generated in frequent hoisting actions.
Every batch of finished wear rings needs compression deformation test and abrasion testing before delivery to guarantee stable in-service performance.
