    More Choices

    1. Product Description
POM (Polyoxymethylene / Acetal) is high-performance crystalline engineering thermoplastic. POM semi-finished tube is manufactured by extrusion process into hollow tubular stock.
Unlike elastic NBR rubber tube and sintered bronze filled PTFE, extruded POM is rigid thermoplastic with moderate friction performance, outstanding rigidity and fatigue resistance. No post-curing or sintering required after machining.
There are two main grades: POM Homopolymer (Delrin type) and POM Copolymer.
Homopolymer POM: higher strength, hardness and wear resistance.
Copolymer POM: better hydrolysis resistance, improved thermal and chemical stability.

    2. Key Material Properties

    ✅ Advantages
    • High rigidity, hardness and excellent fatigue resistance
    • Good sliding properties, low coefficient of friction
    • Excellent dimensional stability, low water absorption
    • Good abrasion resistance against metal mating surfaces
    • Easy for high-precision CNC machining, smooth finished surface
    • Resistant to oils, greases, alcohols and weak alkalis
    • Cost-effective alternative to bronze filled PTFE for medium-load conditions
    ❌ Limitations
    • No elasticity (cannot be used as elastic seal like NBR)
    • Poor resistance to strong acids, oxidizing agents
    • Not recommended for continuous temperature above 100℃
    • Limited self-lubrication compared with bronze filled PTFE; dry high-speed operation may need additional lubrication

    3. Manufacturing & Machining Information

Production process: POM raw granules → extrusion molding → sizing → cutting into hollow semi-finished tube
Customer processing: Direct CNC turning, tapping, cutting. No secondary heat treatment.

    Core Material Distinction Summary

    1. NBR Semi-finished Tube
Vulcanized elastic rubber; resilient, oil-resistant; used for elastic oil seals, rubber gaskets.
    2. Bronze Filled PTFE Semi-finished Tube
Sintered fluoropolymer composite; extreme self-lubrication, ultra-wide temperature; for high-load guide rings, wear rings, dry-running bearings.
    3. POM Semi-finished Tube
Extruded rigid engineering plastic; high rigidity, cost-efficient, good fatigue resistance; for structural bushings, support rings, mechanical rollers, medium-load sliding components.

    4. Typical Applications

    • Automation equipment: plastic bushings, support rings, spacers
    • Pneumatic & hydraulic components: non-elastic guide sleeves, stop rings
    • Textile machinery, packaging machine rollers and sliding parts
    • Household appliances, automotive small structural wear parts
    • Gear, cam, shaft sleeve, locating bushings
    • General machinery medium-load anti-friction components

    6. FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between POM homopolymer and copolymer?
A: Homopolymer POM has higher mechanical strength and wear resistance. Copolymer POM owns better chemical resistance and thermal stability.
Q2: Can POM replace bronze filled PTFE?
A: Only suitable for medium load and lubricated working conditions. Bronze filled PTFE is preferred for dry running, high temperature and heavy load applications.
Q3: Is POM elastic like NBR?
A: No. POM is rigid plastic without elasticity. It cannot be used for elastic sealing. Choose NBR if you need rubber oil seals.
Q4: Does the tube need heat treatment after machining?
A: No. Extruded POM semi-finished tube can be machined directly.
