Traditional integral rubber piston seals can only achieve unidirectional sealing effect and fail to prevent bidirectional medium leakage inside piston cavities. Common rubber materials will suffer swelling, hardening and permanent deformation after long-time soaking in various hydraulic oil and high-temperature lubricants, and high system pressure above 25MPa easily squeezes rubber edges into assembly gaps to trigger abrupt seal failure and unexpected machine shutdown.

3. Complete Structural Composition of Standard Glyd Ring

The finished glyd ring is assembled by two independent functional parts with clear work division. The outer part is rectangular filled PTFE sliding ring processed via carbon or glass fiber modification, undertaking direct contact sealing with cylinder inner wall; the inner embedded component is elastic rubber O-ring responsible for persistent preloading and abrasion gap compensation. The special rectangular outline of PTFE enables synchronous fitting on two sides of piston groove, laying the foundation for bidirectional sealing performance of the whole product.

4.1 Bidirectional sealing implementation principle

Under the lasting radial elastic thrust from inner O-ring, the outer PTFE ring closely adheres to cylinder bore surface and isolates hydraulic medium on both sides of piston cavity to avoid internal cross leakage inside hydraulic cylinders.

4.2 Automatic abrasion compensation mechanism

Long-term reciprocating friction will produce tiny abrasion on PTFE sealing surface, and the compressed O-ring expands outward automatically to push PTFE outward and fill the generated clearance, maintaining stable sealing effect throughout long service cycles. Meanwhile, rigid PTFE structure effectively blocks high-pressure medium from squeezing the seal into assembly gaps to realize outstanding anti-extrusion capacity.

The combination of carbon-filled PTFE and NBR O-ring fits ordinary mineral hydraulic oil within -35℃~120℃ with superior cost performance, while glass-filled PTFE matched with FKM O-ring can resist synthetic oil and high-temperature grease, stably working under -20℃~180℃. Pure PTFE plus VMQ silicone O-ring is customized for food-grade and low-friction working conditions. Standard glyd ring can bear rated working pressure up to 40MPa, and customized reinforced formula products can reach over 55MPa maximum working pressure.

Moderate compatible lubricating grease shall be evenly coated on the surface of the whole seal to reduce assembly friction. Sharp tools such as screwdrivers are forbidden to pry the seal forcibly into the groove, and final inspection is required after installation to confirm free expansion and contraction of PTFE inside the groove without clamping stagnation.
