1. Model Definition
BRT PEEK-BEIGE refers to beige BRT type PEEK backup ring, specially used for hydraulic and pneumatic high-pressure sealing, to prevent O-rings from being extruded into clearances.
- BRT: Standard sealing industry model, representing split or solid backup ring for high-pressure support of O-rings and oil seals.
- PEEK: Polyetheretherketone, high-performance special engineering plastic.
- BEIGE: Natural beige original color of pure PEEK raw material.
2. Core Characteristics
- Temperature Resistance: Long-term working temperature -55℃ ~ 260℃, short-term up to over 300℃.
- Pressure Resistance: Max working pressure up to 70MPa, far higher than conventional PTFE material.
- Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to oil, solvents, acid & alkali, hydrogen sulfide and steam (except concentrated sulfuric acid).
- Mechanical Property: High rigidity, low creep, superior wear resistance and stable dimension.
- Color: Natural beige (pure PEEK); black version is usually carbon fiber/graphite reinforced grade.
3. Specification Marking Example
- Bore type: BRT80×70×2.5 PEEK-BEIGE (OD80 × ID70 × Thickness 2.5mm)
- Shaft type: BRT220×224×2 PEEK-BEIGE (ID220 × OD224 × Thickness 2mm)
4. Application Range
- High-pressure hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves and motors
- Oil & gas wellhead and downhole tools
- Aerospace, construction machinery and high-pressure chemical equipment
5. Advantage vs Ordinary PTFE-BRT
- Higher temperature resistance: 260℃ vs 200℃
- Higher pressure resistance: 70MPa vs 35MPa
- Longer service life: 3-5 times wear resistance
- Better dimensional stability with low creep
6. Remarks
- Abbreviation: Some manufacturers mark as PEEK-BGE
- Custom service: Custom ID/OD/thickness available, tolerance ±0.05mm
