In chemical processing, petrochemical refining, and industrial fluid handling systems, seal failure is one of the leading causes of unplanned downtime, environmental leakage, and costly equipment damage. Aggressive chemicals such as strong acids, caustic alkalis, organic solvents, and corrosive gases continuously attack sealing components, causing material degradation, swelling, embrittlement, and eventual leakage. Conventional elastomeric seals like NBR (nitrile rubber) and EPDM, while effective in general-purpose applications, often fail prematurely when exposed to harsh chemical environments. Selecting the right sealing material for corrosive media is therefore critical to ensuring long-term reliability, operational safety, and reduced maintenance costs.
