Working Principle

Guide rings (also known as wear rings or bearing rings) are installed in the groove of a piston or piston rod to provide radial support and guidance during cylinder operation. As the piston moves within the cylinder bore, the guide ring makes contact with the cylinder wall, bearing the radial loads generated by the system pressure and mechanical forces. By absorbing these loads, the guide ring prevents direct metal-to-metal contact between the piston and the cylinder bore, which would otherwise cause friction, scoring, and premature wear of both components.

The POM material's low coefficient of friction ensures smooth movement with minimal resistance, while its high wear resistance maintains the required clearance between the piston and cylinder wall over extended operating cycles.
