Which sealing ring has good oil resistance?

When selecting the sealing ring with good oil resistance, it is necessary to consider the resistance of the sealing ring material to oil, temperature resistance, mechanical strength and application scenarios. The following are some sealing ring materials with better oil resistance:

Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)

Oil resistance: Nitrile rubber has good resistance to petrochemical oil and hydrocarbon fuel oil, especially suitable for petroleum products, air with oil vapor, vegetable oil and mineral oil and other environments.

Application scenario: Widely used in various mechanical equipment, as padding, sealing, buffer and other components.

Fluorine rubber:

Oil resistance: Fluorine rubber has excellent oil resistance and can resist a variety of oils, chemicals and high temperature environment erosion.

Other properties: At the same time, fluorine rubber also has good high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and sealing performance, suitable for high-precision, high-demand sealing needs.

Application scenario: It is often used for sealing in high temperature, high pressure and harsh environment such as cylinder liner sealing ring, rubber bowl and rotary lip sealing ring.

Polyurethane rubber (PU) :

Oil resistance: Polyurethane rubber has moderate oil resistance, as well as good oxygen and ozone aging resistance.

Other properties: In addition, polyurethane rubber also has excellent wear resistance and breathability, and the use temperature range is generally -20~80 ° C.

Application scenario: Suitable for manufacturing various rubber sealing products, such as oil seals, O-rings and diaphragms.

Silicone rubber:

Oil resistance: Although silicone rubber itself is not resistant to oil, it has excellent chemical stability and high and low temperature resistance, and can resist the erosion of oil to a certain extent (but the effect is not as good as nitrile rubber and fluorine rubber).

Other properties: Silicone rubber also has good ozone resistance and weather aging resistance, and can maintain its unique flexibility in the working temperature range of -70~260 ° C.

Application scenario: It is often used to make the sealing gaskets required in the thermal mechanism, such as the strong light source lamp shade sealing ring, valve gasket, etc.

Acrylic rubber (ACM) :

Oil resistance: acrylic rubber has the characteristics of heat resistant oil (mineral oil, lubricating oil and fuel oil), especially at high temperature oil resistance and stability.

Application scenario: It is suitable for making oil seals resistant to high temperature oil in non-cold areas, but it is not suitable for sealing products subjected to tensile or compressive stress at high temperature.

In addition, hydrogenated nitrile rubber also has good oil resistance, but the specific selection needs to be considered according to the application scenario, oil type, temperature and pressure requirements.

In summary, nitrile butadiene rubber, fluorine rubber and polyurethane rubber are sealing ring materials with good oil resistance. In the selection, it is also necessary to pay attention to the selection of regular brands and manufacturers to ensure stable and reliable product quality and performance.
